Multi tasking in the sewing room

Just a few of the multiple sewing projects that I've been working on in my spare (ha!) time.   All captured quickly with my phone and posted on Instagram.

Of course now that summer is nearing it's end I've begun dreaming of fall fashions and am starting to lose my motivation to finish these summer designs!  Is anyone else feeling that way?

  1. No there is still the end of August and all of September left to wear summer gear. As much as I start to yearn for autumn with the arrival of the fall magazines, realistically I can't start wearing wool until mid to late October. So this year I'm going with the climate and sewing for the season...believe me fall and winter with their cold climes will be here soon enough!

    1. It must be the gloomy weather today, with highs only in the 60s. The forecast for next week is "fall like weather". I'm sure once the sun shines again I'll want to finish my summer sewing.

    1. McCall's 6319 - the upper middle is the top portion of the dress. The bottom right is the skirt portion. Fabric is from a Denver Fabric remnant. I want to go back to Colorado just to shop at Denver Fabrics again!

  4. Just pack them all up and post down to me (Aussie) - our summer will kick in soon and I can see myself wearing all of these! They look super - find that motivation button and get them finished....

  5. Ha, don't think about fall sewing here until at least the end of Sept. or maybe Oct. The 100 temps will still be with us until the end of this month and hopefully we'll only be dealing with the mid 90s from mid Sept - Oct. We "hope" for all in November! lol

    1. Wow! By November we'll be wondering what day the snow will begin! I think our run of 100 temps is over for the season. I'll be thrilled when these cool 60s increase a bit extending the summer.

Oh still dreaming of a summer. Living in London we've had about two full weeks of summer. Even though the Olympic spirit sent the temperature to over 100 but they sun was very sleepy. I am still hoping for the rest of August to be hot and September to but the weather forecast for this week is more rain, warmish but not particularly hot for beautiful summer clothes. I still have loads of ideas of things I want to make for summer I have started to think about my fall and winter clothes, including flicking through the fashion magazines in the supermarket to get some inspiration. Even though I don't need any more clothes but we all know making clothes is sooo much cheaper than buying, they fit so much better and it's a sense of achievement that 'I made it' especially when people ask where did you get that outfit!

  7. I love seeing that others also have multiple projects going. My work area is filled with many little things lately! Sharon, also wanted to say that I love seeing your style choices both here and on Pinterest.

  8. I love this post!...and I like how you categorize "multiple projects" as multi-tasking....it's EXACTLY what it is! I'm with ya....I'm right with ya! Keep your mojo for these projects....they look fabulous!

  11. I have a dress ready to sew that is meant for summer. Like you I start thinking about fall sewing and when I do get to it, it is already upon us.

  12. It was almost 100 where I am today and all I want to do is start planning fall sewing projects! Maybe I'm just ready for cooler weather.

  13. I tend to cut out a lot of projects before hand, so when I have time I can dig in. But, then I run the risk of having my attention span flutter off to something else. Summer here lingers so I have time to get my summer stuff done.
