A little black skirt - Simplicity 5259

I know I've gone on and on about my love of my little black skirts here and here and here.

But I can't help it.  I went and did it again.

Sewed myself another little black skirt.

In my defense all three of those black skirts are long gone from my closet.  Two were too large (yay) and one was too small (boo).  This one is just right.  (Sheesh, now I have the Goldilocks and the Three Bears story rolling around in my brain...)

Now I know this looks like a boring black pencil skirt.

But it has a little surprise.

Yep.   A off-center front slit.  Just enough to let a little leg show,   tried to do the leg pose ala Angelina Jolie but the slit isn't high enough, LOL.

By the way, the pattern is Simplicity 5259 - and if you need a basic skirt pattern I highly recommend this one.

perfect little black skirt. I'm going to check out that pattern. Where do you buy your apparel fabric? I find the choices at my local fabric store mediocre...

Oooh, nice. Love the shoes paired with the skirt, too.

  3. Perfect! The off centre slit adds a bit of elegance. great job!

  4. I've always liked off centre slits on skirts. Nice work.

  5. Love it! I always loved the -slit off center front- design!

  6. Whoo-hoo! Show off that leg! Yours is a much prettier leg than Angelina's pasty prosthetic looking stick, and the skirt slit, much more tasteful. A very pretty skirt.

  7. Nice! I don't think I own a black skirt - maybe that should be changed, eh? Lovely. g
