Hey everyone - can I get your opinions on something?
I working on a project and the main fabric is a deep plum wool knit. I'm trying to decide what accent color I like best with the plum color.
To be honest, I actually like all three - for three different reasons - which is why I need some opinions.
I tried getting an opinion out of my hubby but he pulled the ole "you know I'm not that good at coordinating colors" excuse.
I then tried the ole "you know I haven't really decided on any of them so I'm not asking you to pick the one I like best" comment, but no go. That man's pretty smart :-) Except this time I really didn't have a favorite and really did want his opinion.
So which of these three options for an accent pops out at you? The color is a bit off due to my photography, but I think you can get a good idea.
Option A is multi-colored with hints of the exact shade of plum
Option B is a muted plum tone
Option C is a brighter berry plum tone
Thanks for your help!

I always like a pop of color, so I would do Option A. But of course it will depend on the pattern and the effect you are trying to achieve.
ReplyDeleteI pick option B. You know you are going to end up with a completely split vote right!?!
ReplyDeleteOption A is gorgeous! Thats an easy pick!
ReplyDeleteI love a print, so I'm drawn to A, but C really makes both colors pop.
ReplyDeleteI do like A, the print, but I wonder if it's a bit too different from the maing fabric? I'd have to see what you're making to be sure.
ReplyDeleteB gives a nice subtle contrast without being jarring.
C seems a bit too red to go nicely with your plum.
I like A, Sharon. Depending on what you're making (like a jacket from the accent), you might get more mileage from A than the others - it's got the kind of coloring that goes with everything.
ReplyDeleteOption A -- that's all she wrote!
ReplyDelete"A" is a definite for me bar none.
ReplyDeleteOption A.
ReplyDeleteI'd recognize that "Option A" anywhere, and can speak for it first-hand. It's beautiful fabric, and will garner many, many compliments.
ReplyDeleteOption A. Love the contrast. Really compliments the purple. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteI keep looking at A, so that's my vote!
ReplyDeleteI like B, good luck deciding.
ReplyDeleteWell, it depends... It is hard for me to give an opinion without a bit more context, but my least favorite is B. That one seems a bit "dead" to me. I like A very much, but maybe C is better for your particular application. So, A or C. :D
ReplyDeleteoption B, maybe option C
ReplyDeleteI like A. And plum is one of my favorite colors!
ReplyDelete'A' all the way!
ReplyDeleteLS
A would be my choice by a long shot.
ReplyDeleteOption A
ReplyDeleteOption B looks like a well coordinated choice to me.
ReplyDeleteI'd pick option A. Great contrast, and the the fabric contains the main color, so it's not too far off.
ReplyDeleteB is too boring in my opinion. C too obvious.
In case you have not made up up your min yet , I say option Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
ReplyDeleteOption A. In a heart beat. I have a poll going on on my blog too :)
ReplyDeleteOption A!
ReplyDeleteI like A the best, I think. The extra colors seem like it would make it more wearable with many more other colors. Unless you are doing a large color-block garment, the *maybe* I'd go with B. The C tends to put the color combination dangerously close to "Barbie" territory to my eyes. I like pink & purple, but the combination has just been way overdone in the girls section of the toy aisle.
ReplyDeleteOption A. Can't wait to see pics.
ReplyDeleteI think A adds a lot of interest, so I vote A
ReplyDeleteI like the muted purple the best (B).
ReplyDeleteAnd funny, I just bought a deep purple wool sweater knit myself!
Like you need yet another opinion... I vote for A.
ReplyDeleteI like the combination A. It caught my eye immediately.
ReplyDeleteI would pick A. It is the most interesting to me...the second choice would be C.
ReplyDeleteA. It was my favorite. That print is interesting. And it seems like it's an easy choice on the computer, but I wonder in real life...
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing!
Option A definitely!
ReplyDeleteI prefer Option A because I love the way Aquas and Plums look together.
ReplyDeleteI like B. I like it because it is more muted - which is like my colouring. What suits you best?
ReplyDeleteI vote for A - really pretty fabric..
ReplyDeleteOption A for me, it's lovely, and bright.
ReplyDeleteI love that pink and purple combo. Go with Option C.
ReplyDeleteThe multi!!!!!!
