Stop the world---I want to sew

Life is passing by so quickly with too much to do and not enough time to do it in.

My neglected sewing studio, with its cutting table piled high with fabrics and patterns, taunts me every time I walk by.

"Look at us!" they cry out. "We're here! Waiting patiently for you to cut and pin and stitch us into something wonderful. How much longer must we wait?"'

To which I have no answer.

  1. Your fabric and my fabric must be conspiring, my pile is saying the same thing.

  2. Sounds like a little sewing vacation is needed!

  4. Tell me about it! And I finally found some time to sew and ended up with yet another ill-fitting garment that I will have to try to fix. Recent failures are bringing me down, man.

  5. Yes. My fabric calls out to me as I run to and fro around the house.

  6. Perhaps your sewing studio could meet up with mine and then they can really talk about how they feel neglected!

  7. I was just thinking about posting to my blog how I am not getting any sewing done while fabric and patterns are calling to me wanting attention. As Carolyn said, must be something going around.

  9. I think it's the weather...at least, here in New England. Back in February I had no problem sitting all day long in front of the machine happily sewing away - I would make it my goal to complete a garment in a weekend. That's easy to do when it's dark when you get up in the morning and dark when you go to bed and it's snowing outside.
Now that it's warm and sunny, I find less time for sewing, more time for outdoor things.

  10. Ditto! Hopefully I'll be able to grab a shovel, clear out a path and sew something soon!

  13. For now, time isn't the issue (I'm off work for a few months). but it's not being able to sew because I'm on the mend. Hopefully, things will be "mended" up before those three months are up!

But normally, I'm with you on this one.
